造訪土溝農村美術館，你可能會遇見「金城武」與「強尼戴普」在下田，不過這還不是最怪的，因為在土溝農村美術館根本找不到美術館。
土溝位在台南市後壁區，是一個再典型不過的傳統鄉村，居民以老農為主，2002年成立土溝農村文化營造協會，由台南藝術大學研究生進駐協助社區營造，10多年過去了，這群研究生後來營造的已不是社區，而是搞大成了「美術館」。
土溝農村美術館，不見館，只見村，因為村就是美術館，美術館是村，居民全是美術館的一分子，老農會自豪地告訴遊客：「我家就是美術館！」3月木棉花、6月蓮花，以及田裡的作物，全是美術館展示的藝術品，目前全村進駐30多位藝術家，共有20多處展場。
是藝術家 也是農民
10多年前，來到土溝的研究生被土黏住，留下來成家立業也成了農夫。當藝術家變成農夫，老農也開始變成藝術家，在研究生的鼓勵下，害羞地拿起畫筆，畫出最熟悉的農村景象，畫作豐富的生命力讓專業畫家也自嘆不如，他們還辦過畫展、上過電視被採訪成了名人。
人稱「土溝強尼戴普」的黃鼎堯，英文名字叫Michael，是團購熱門產品最早來到土溝的研究生之一，土溝的阿公阿嬤都叫他「饅頭」（音近Michael），時間一晃，當年的研究生已邁入40歲，但熱血依舊，不種田時候，身分是土溝農村美術館執行長，他說，「美術館的目標是把外地變在地。」
經過10多年，從前不愛回鄉的年輕人，驚覺老家這麼受歡迎，三不五時就帶朋友來玩；有了對土地的驕傲，年輕人不走了，剛滿20歲的張文杰，自小開始看著哥哥姊姊們熱血工作的身影，心中充滿敬佩，長大後決定留在家鄉投入美術館工作。
彩繪3D變2D 挑戰好眼力
土溝農村美術館年年都有創新，剛開放的優雅農夫藝文農場，是「土溝金城武」王國仁的作品，他4年前來土溝參與展覽之後，也被土地黏住走不了。
這一回他花了半年時間彩繪老屋，牆上的刷子、桌上的盆栽、窗邊的布簾看似平面畫作，卻是真實物件，是台網路人氣商品top10灣第一處把3D變2D的創作，來這裡拍照打卡絕對被朋友頻頻按讚，可以挑戰眼力，試著破解把一個個物件看回立體原型。
